Touch of Terra provides ready-to-go backpacks filled with food, toiletries, and necessities for those in need, while also advocating for long-term solutions to the homelessness crisis.
Touch of Terra was created in order to carry on the mission of Terra Boone, a loving mother, wife, and person, who loved nothing more than to help others. Terra's giving spirit is what inspired us to create Touch of Terra so that way people can continue to feel the care she gave to the world. We hope that through Touch of Terra that we can carry on Terra's legacy, and bring a positive impact to the world through our work.
We provide ready-to-go backpacks filled with food, hygiene items, clothing, and other essentials to those experiencing homelessness in our community. But we're more than just a service organization, we're also advocates for change and builders of community understanding. Our mission is to foster an understanding for those experiencing homelessness and show that each and every person deserves to be treated with understanding and dignity.

Terra Boone was an incredible mother, friend, wife, and person who always sought to bring joy to the lives of each and every person she met. Whether it be the intricate and personalized gift baskets she made for her family and friends, or the backpacks she meticulously made for the homeless population in Louisville, Terra had a gift for giving.
She had an incredible ability to make people feel seen and valued, regardless of their circumstances. Terra truly believed that everyone deserved dignity and kindness, and she lived that belief every single day.
Although Terra is no longer with us, her spirit lives on through the people that she touched and the lives she changed. Thanks to your support, Touch of Terra can carry on Terra's legacy and continue to improve the lives of others, just as Terra did.

- DyLon Boone, son of Terra BooneMy mother had the biggest heart of any person I knew. She was always giving, always loving, and always caring for those around her. When she passed away, I wanted to find a way to remember her legacy, and a little over a year later I decided to start Touch of Terra.
Growing up I never really understood the extent of my mother's ability to give. I remember the effort she would put in for people, especially when it came to two things, her family, and those who had next to nothing. From making backpacks for the homeless to buying presents for children on the Angel Tree, she always had to be doing something to help.
Today, I can carry on my mother's love of helping others. Touch of Terra is what allows me to both carry on my mother's legacy while also creating my own initiative to help those who are in need.
Terra's legacy lives on through every person we help and every heart we change. This is how we honor her memory.

Wayside Christian Mission is Louisville's largest and oldest emergency homeless shelter, providing shelter, meals, and supportive services to men, women, and children experiencing homelessness. As our key distribution partner, Wayside helps us reach those who need our backpacks most.
